MAHANOY TOWNSHIP ROUTE 54 VULCAN VEHICLE FIRE 5-7-2010 PICTURES AND VIDEOS BY COALREGIONFIRE
MAHANOY TOWNSHIP (SCHUYLKILL COUNTY), PA: On May 7th after 04:00 hours the Mahanoy Fire Department (Citizen, Humane, and Good American Fire Companies) and Mahanoy City Ambulance were dispatched to a vehicle fire involving an automobile. The fire was reported to be on Route 54 in the area of the Vulcan Hill in Mahanoy Township.
Citizens Engine 454 was on scene first and found a working fire. The fire involved the engine compartment in a passenger car. Humane Engine 451 and Tanker 461 arrived on scene and assisted Engine 454 crew in advancing a hose line. The fire was extinguished with a foam line from Engine 454.
Humane Engine 451 crew remained on the scene to overhaul and investigate the fire. The vehicle was damaged and to be towed from the scene.
