FRACKVILLE VEHICLE FIRE 7-31-2011 PICTURES BY COALREGIONFIRE

FRACKVILLE, (SCHUYLKILL COUNTY), PA: On July 31st at 21:35 hours, Englewood-Butler Township and Frackville-Goodwill Fire Companies were dispatched to a vehicle fire involving a pickup truck. The fire was reported to be in the 400 block of south Middle Street in Frackville.

Frackville Engine 43-10 was on scene first and found a pick up truck with its engine compartment on fire. Engine 43-10 crew deployed a 1 1/2” cross lay to the pick up truck. The engine crew was then able to knock down the fire in the engine compartment that was burning. Fire fighters were then able to force the hood to get to the smoldering engine compartment. Engine 369 and Engine 43-15 arrived and sent their manpower up to the fire scene.

The Frackville engine crews remained on the scene to overhaul and investigate the cause of fire. The vehicle was damaged and will have to be towed from the scene. The fire chief reported there were no injuries to the owner or fire fighters.
