INCIDENT INFORATION: Dispatched for an accident with heavy entrapment. Units find driver heavily entraped in the cab of the tractor trailer. Truck went down a 100 foot embankment and had major structural damage.  Patient extricated from the cab by Goodwill.  Yorkville Rescue 63 provided low angle rescue operations. Patient removed from the scene by a stokes basket and rope haul system.  Fire units provide traffic control until driver removed from the scene by EMS. Patient taken to Joe Zerby Airport to meet Life Flight and then flown to a trauma center.

The fire appears to have started in an electric wall heater in a second-floor bedroom on the C-side. The fire also burned through the exterior wall and dropdown caused an extensive exterior fire. Engine 21 was first-in. They laid a supply line and the first line went through the front door. A line was also stretched to the rear of the structure to knock down the rapidly advancing exterior fire. Other lines included a back-up line into the fire building and another into the D exposure. Engine 11 dropped a second supply line. Truck 34 opened the roof over the main fire. The fire was quickly knocked down. Exposure B received only light smoke and Exposure D had smoke and damage from opening the ceilings upstairs

(6 stations) and AREA EMS.  INCIDENT INORMATION:  Working stove fire was slow down by police with fire extinguisher.  First in Engine 11 stretched one hand line and finished the job extinguishing the fire.  Walls had to be overhaul and structure had to be vented.  Units operated on scene for 30 minutes.
