GILBERTON (SCHUYLKILL COUNTY), PA: On January 25th the Gilberton, Mahanoy City, Frackville, Englewood-Butler Township, Shenandoah Fire Department and Frackville EMS were dispatched to a house fire at 110 Long Row in Gilberton. Gilberton Engine 44-15 arrived first on the scene to find a fire in the wall next to the furnace. Gilberton Fire Fighters then quickly deployed a hose line to the rear of the home. The additional fire companies staged on Long Row and sent their manpower to the home. Fire fighters used the hose line to attack the fire in the wall to stop the spreading flames. The fire was quickly extinguished in the home. Firefighters then used a TIC to check for fire extension in the rear of the home. The smoke was then quickly vented from the home with smoke ejectors. It was determine the furnace accidentally caught the wall on fire.
