RYAN TOWNSHIP (SCHUYLKILL COUNTY), PA - On Sunday January 29th at 15:05 hours the Ryan Township, Delano Township, Mahanoy City Citizens, Altamont-West Mahanoy Township Fire Companies, Shenandoah ALS and Ryan Township Ambulance were dispatched to a vehicle accident with injuries. The accident was reported to be in the area of mile marker 129 southbound on Interstate 81, just north of the Frackville Exit.
Citizen’s Engine 454 and Rescue Squad 26 went on scene and found a one vehicle off the left side of the roadway. The two occupants in the vehicle complained of minor injuries. Engine 367 and Squad 360 arrived shortly and provided traffic control
The Ryan Township EMS Crew then evaluated the driver and passenger of the vehicle. Engine 454 crew assisted the two EMS units in packaging the injured individuals. The two Ryan Township EMS units transported the two injured individuals to a local hospital with minor injuries. Squad 360 stood by and assisted in directing traffic while the accident scene was cleaned up. The State Police is currently looking into the cause of the accident.
