FRACKVILLE (SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA): On April 23, 2012 at 17:24 hours the Frackville-Goodwill and Englewood Fire Company were dispatched to 301 South 3rd Street in Frackville for a vehicle fire. The phone caller reported there was a Ford Bronco on fire in the Frackville Elk’s parking lot.
The Frackville Police arrived to find a smoke coming from the vehicle engine’s compartment. Frackville Engine 43-15 arrived first and sent its crew to investigate the source of the smoke. Englewood Engine 369 and Frackville Engine 43-10 arrived and staged behind Engine 43-15. Engine 369 crew backed the Frackville personnel and stood by with a PW. The burning wires were quickly extinguished and under control in 5 minutes. The crews were able to look under the hood to check for extensions.
Engine 43-15 and Engine 43-10 remained on the scene for ten minutes to overhaul and investigate the cause. The fire damaged the vehicle’s electrical system and had to be towed from the scene.
