BARRY TOWNSHIP (SCHUYLKILL COUNTY), PA - On October 20, 2011 at 14:30 hours the Butler Township (Lavelle and Fountain Springs) and Gordon fire companies, Ashland Rescue, Shenandoah Medics and Ashland Ambulance were dispatched to a vehicle accident with injuries. Northumberland County AREA Medic unit came upon the accident and reported there were three vehicles involved. They reported the accident was at Route 901 and Airport Road in Barry Township.
Lavelle Engine 4-12 was the first fire unit on scene and found the vehicles blocking the roadway. The vehicles had severe damage and with two individuals hurt. Gordon Engine 46-10 arrived on scene and was ordered to assist with traffic control. One driver was transported from the scene and taken to a local hospital by the AREA EMS unit. Ashland EMS responded with two ambulances and transported the other injured to the hospital. The Lavelle and Gordon engine crews remained on the scene until released by the State Police.
